Three Lines of Defense for Nursing Home Flooring
① Softness and Fall Mitigation
Grading is fixed based on product structure and spatial tasks: bedside areas and rooms for seniors prioritize 2A S1 Beijixing; composite surfaces prioritize 3A Fall-cushion System; age and bone density serve as references for zoning.
② Slip Resistance
With improved dry and wet friction performance, wet areas in bathrooms require verification of the R10 rating according to corresponding tested products. Daily living areas must also focus on slip resistance after mopping.
③ Wheelchair Pressure Resistance
Moderate hardness allows wheelchairs, nursing beds, and meal carts to roll with minimal visible indentations without trapping wheels, and rebounds under long-term pressure.
Evaluating Slip Resistance in Real Traffic Scenarios
For public areas, rehabilitation training areas, and ramp transition zones in nursing homes, underfoot stability should be evaluated not just by static parameters, but also after wet mopping, on ramps, and along walker and wheelchair routes. Quantum Stack, S3 Xingyao, and wet area slip-resistant products should be configured separately according to area risks.
Images record the testing process; final project conclusions are subject to test reports, sample names, and on-site installation conditions.
Zoned Configuration Solutions (Key to Cost Control)
There is no need to install 3A grade throughout the entire facility. Zone configuration according to spatial tasks and product grades balances safety and budget:
| Area | Risk | Recommended Grade | Recommended Products |
|---|---|---|---|
| Toilets / Bathrooms / Covered Walkways | Slipping Risk | 1A | L1 Bathroom Mat / Xingji Half Anti-slip Mat / Xingji Full Anti-slip Mat |
| Public Activity Area / Corridor | Traffic Risk | 3A | S3 Xingyao / S2 Xingmang |
| Wheelchair / Nursing Bed Passage Routes | Load-bearing and Passage | 3A | S3 Xingyao |
| Bedside / Rooms for Seniors | Focused Cushioning | 2A | S1 Beijixing / Quantum Stack |
| Hospital / Care Home Composite Surfaces | System Cushioning | 3A | Fall-cushion System (PVC/Wood Flooring Composite Surfaces) |

FAQ
Which indicators matter most for nursing home flooring?
Three core areas: ① Slip resistance and drainage in wet areas (1A L1 Bathroom Mat / Xingji Full Anti-slip Mat) ② Public passage and wheelchair/nursing bed routes (3A S3 Xingyao) ③ Bedside cushioning (2A S1 Beijixing) and composite surfaces (3A Fall-cushion System). Antibacterial performance is subject to testing reports, along with ease of cleaning.
Should the entire nursing home be paved with 3A grade flooring?
Not necessary. It is recommended to configure zoning strictly based on product grades: 1A wet-area anti-slip for toilets/bathrooms; 3A S3 Xingyao for public activity areas/corridors; 2A S1 Beijixing for bedsides in bedrooms; 3A Fall-cushion System for composite flooring in hospitals and nursing homes. Age, bone density, and care levels are only used for project zoning and do not alter product grades.
Can the flooring withstand long-term pressure from wheelchairs and nursing beds?
Verification is required based on the model and on-site conditions. While S3 Xingyao is designed for public passage and wheelchair/nursing bed routes in senior care institutions, assessment is still needed considering wheel diameter, load, turning areas, subfloor flatness, indentation recovery, and cleaning maintenance requirements.
Can the flooring be taken along if the nursing home relocates?
Yes. The entire series features a glue-free interlocking design, allowing for disassembly and relocation. It can be reused during institution relocations or renovations, and individual damaged tiles can be replaced separately.
Are there cooperation case studies with senior care institutions?
Anonymized case studies, product documentation, and construction communication checklists can be provided based on project requirements. Matters involving client names, contracts, and authorization scopes are subject to mutually confirmed documents.
